Incredibly caring staff and amazing facility
Starting with the Marketing Director who helped me from the first day I called…she was so attentive, caring and supportive and continued to follow up.
Even though they did not have space at the time, when I was able to take a tour, it is heaven on earth -truly. From the front desk receptionist to the assistant marketing staff and their Chef, what a wonderful place to be every day.
She asked to stay in touch which she has ~. Our family situation happened suddenly and continues to change as we go a day at a time and perhaps one day we will have our family member there!

The whole process with A Place for Mom was so incrediblely helpful!!! I picked because of the overall value for cost, especially meals. Also the location was very important, it provides a lot of extra experiences, especially for the independant level person.

Edmonds Landing has declined in quality
Good: Edmonds Landing has an incredible location right in the heart of downtown Edmonds. You can walk to restaurants, coffee shops, the beach, and the senior center.
They freshly painted the halls and updated the community furniture to make it look lighter and brighter.
Bad: They are on their 3rd manager in less than 12 months. They have done budget cutbacks, turning over their staff, letting go of maintenance and janitorial people, and they pay near the bottom of the pay range for staff. This has led to a staff shortage, which creates a decline in care, especially for assisted care. Residents have fallen and pressed the call button and it has taken over an hour to get help. Another resident soiled herself, called for help, and two hours later no help came. Rooms are not being cleaned like the contracts call for. Many of the staff that are there are stressed and have to just do triage because they are shorthanded. Edmonds Landing needs to hire more staff and quickly.

Happy with our choice
I have not been happy with the mask enforcement that they have - but the care for my loved one is quite good. They do have a lot of options as far as activities go, lots of things going on. The food is very good and they are chef prepared meals. Overall I would recommend Edmonds Landing to others looking.

The environment there is very positive and uplifting
Right when we walked into this community we knew this was the perfect place for our loved one. Everybody there is friendly, very helpful and they give our loved one way more attention than the previous community she was at. Our loved one is eating all the meals so we have to assume that she is happy with the meals. She is still adjusting but we do know they have a lot of activities for the residents, and she does enjoy going to the happy hour every Friday. Also the location is much closer to our family which makes it much easier for us to visit 2-3 times a week.

A Warm and Wonderful Place
The staff all the way through, from top to bottom, is so kind and so caring. They have taken an active interest in my loved one as a person and in her assimilation into the community. From a resident perspective, they've worked really hard to ensure that there are lots of opportunities for my loved one to meet other residents, hampered only by Covid and the lockdown quarantining that has had to take place. And that's due to the governor's restrictions, that's not on Edmonds Landing. In the last few months, activities have picked up. They've offering crafts, bingo, parties, either drink of the week or month, I'm not sure which one it is. The facilities are just spotless. They're very, very clean. The staff that comes in and does the vacuuming / dusting / changing the linens, have done a great job. The food is good. When my loved one first arrived, she thought it was great. But after several months, it's still good overall, it's just not her home cooking. It's been odd to experience moving into assisted living during quarantine. I just think the whole situation has created a complicated dynamic. And we're looking forward to her getting to have the full experience we wanted for her going forward. The only thing that has been challenging is communication. They communicate very well with the residents, but my loved one has some memory issues. So it's been hard for me to understand what's going on at the community because my loved one has not been able to be as effective at communicating with me. And they don't really have a method in place to keep the families in the loop, although they do send out periodic text messages. So when my loved one has an issue, it's been difficult for me to know who to talk to about it and how to follow up with it. I would like to see just a little bit more communication with the families.

A welcoming local home that's a great fit
Overall, our experience with Edmonds Landing has been extremely good. The staff are very communicative about everything. The marketing director and the nurse are extremely accessible and they return our calls and emails within the same day. It is in close proximity to our house and my mother in law is happy because she could stay in the downtown Edmond area.

Very nice and elegant place
I absolutely recommend this location to other families. The staff here is just great. They’re there just looking out for my mother and everyone else there. It has a very friendly, relaxing, and comfortable atmosphere. They just got done painting the interior so it looks even nicer. It is very elegant. The facility itself is well cared for; very neat and clean. My mother’s place is nice and cozy. In the process of her moving she had a similar floorplan very much like the condo she was living in. So it looks familiar to her which she liked. There’s always a lot of stuff going on as well. There’s yoga, walking groups, puzzle tables, and there is even a beauty salon on site. There is a 24 hour bistro that you are able to get snacks and coffee. They also offer transportation services that take the residents places every week. They can transport them to doctor’s appointments or just whatever it is they need to do. In the exterior of the facility they have several courtyards that are very pretty. They line around the perimeter with little benches and it is a close walk to the Edmond's Gazebo. All in all, it is a very homey place. There are always people around all the time and they are really kind to everyone.

For Me, Everything Is Taken Care of
So far it is very good for me since I moved in. It is 100% positive and I like it very much. Everything is taken care of like the meals, cleaning, and social events. A guy came by with a bagpipe and gave us a performance. All around they are the best. I would and have already recommended the community to others.
