Hi. I have been here 4 years [date removed]. Love the residents and staff here. Staff professional efficient and effective Always there ready to help. Estates bus is awesome. Takes u 2 your medical appointment and pick up. Weekly outings plus necessary runs to bank etc. all well coordinated by knowledgeable driver. Dining great get together to meet and eat. I have no problem with menu choices always offer alternatives. Activities coffee chat good idea for bringing residents together. Best part your own choice of whatever you wish. Independent living at its best best location and best part if you need extra help the estates encourages allows personal in care resources even brings in different personal care organisations for u 2 choose from. Best move I have made coming here.

Overall EXCELLENT. Staff are like family.
My mother has been very happy at Stamford. The staff obviously care and love their job. My mother's only complaint might be the meals, which although usually excellent, are sometimes a little too spicy for her. She loves most of the activities but sometimes she has commented that " the entertainment / movie tonight put me to sleep. "

Peace of mind
We chose Stamford Estates because it was a timing thing. The manager was very responsive in terms of not only getting a hold of me but responding what I needed to facilitate a transfer for my mom to the community. The apartment sizes are a decent size, they do have a variety of different layouts that you are able to choose from. The staff have been very accommodating to my mother and I. I did worry in the beginning about how the facility could navigate about what my mother needed especially because it was a quick transfer and she is still adjusting. I have confidence she is in a safe place and that she is well taken care of. It has given me some peace of mind and I really appreciate that. Overall I would recommend them to others looking.

our experience here was not very pleasant
we toured Stamford Estates several times and each time they were extremely nice. they would go out of their way to offer us coffee and meals, gave us advice on furniture stores, and sold us on all of the things they had to offer. we were told that there would be plenty of activities to take part of, HD cable boxes available for each resident, and we also assumed that they would upkeep their same level of hospitality and bright smiles that we were accustomed to. it seemed as if all of those things were facades; because as soon as my mom moved in, she was treated awful. there were little to no activities, so my loved one often sat in her room. there was no HD cable box offered until we mentioned bringing our own; and even then theirs took about a week to arrive. when we came to visit we were no longer "allowed" any complimentary beverages or snacks. we paid a lot of money for my moms room - which was located by the laundry and utility room(s), so she was often kept up at night because of the loud noises. it just felt like nothing went smoothly.
they did not follow through on their promises and amenities offered, but we ultimately removed my loved one because she did not like the way she being treated. the staff took her opinion(s) personally, she shouldn't have been chastised over sharing her point of view. they left a lasting negative impression, especially when we were moving her out. whoever attends the front door intentionally ignored us. I had to knock on the window to get their attention, to which they replied "oh, I didn't see you there". I felt that this was dishonest because there's a camera outside; and they were aware that we were there to pick up her belongings. while moving things out of the building, we noticed some snickering of the staff members making light of the situation. they were overall just rude and mean to my loved one; they really hurt her feelings. we felt awkward and embarrassed to go back and retrieve her things just by the way they handled the move out process. on our way out, I stopped by the front desk and asked for my moms POA paperwork back. they informed us that they didn't have it, they didn't know where it was, and it could not be located. I saw them make a copy of such important documents and it really concerned me that it could have been misplaced or thrown out this entire time and no one said anything. I was not too happy over how they handled that situation, amongst other things.
my loved one only stayed here for a short while, but I would not recommend this community based on our experience. it doesn't feel like my mom was treated fairly (for whatever reasons). Stamford Estates left a really bad feeling with our loved one.

Stamford Estates is owned by the same company as the facility that I moved into. I assume it would be about the same, I had a good tour. The grounds were just not as pretty here as they were at the other facility and I love to be outside and walk.

My mother has been a resident for six years . The life there has declined drastically this past year. Meals are not palatable for the residents. Poor service for the monthly rate.

Beautiful facility with attractive aspect. While this is a wonderful home, we need to consider our health needs (cancer and heart) are met entirely in St. Catharines. We feel we must remain in St. Catharines despite all the charms and advantages of Stamford Estates. Thanks to the staff for their kind attention.

Everything about this place is wonderful
This place is just wonderful. Everything they do and have done for my Mom has been great. From the individuals that work there to the directors, everyone has been just wonderful and you can tell they like working there. Immediately when I walked into the place, I thought “this is it”. [Removed], from the first day I walked in, was compassionate and understanding and really made me feel at ease about making the decision to move my Mom in. He remembers the names of everyone that lives there and even my own family. The other gentleman, [Removed], was wonderful with helping as soon as a place became available. He was very sensitive and understanding. It was sweet to know that after all was said and done, [Removed] took the chance to give my mom a hug and tell her “welcome home”. It was so touching. They put my Mom with an ambassador to make sure she felt welcomed and had someone to rely on and show her around. The food is even phenomenal. Even the kitchen staff is great. I really can’t say enough about this place and we’re really thrilled with it.

I'm so happy and relieved that we found somewhere mom is excited about!!!
Stephen at Stamford Estates was great. He is such a warm and kind person. He made mom feel right at home. She really likes her apartment. It is a one bedroom on the fourth floor with a view of the Niagara Falls skyline. The staff are really good at answering our questions. The food is pretty good and they keep the community very clean. She likes the exercise classes and takes advantage of the transportation available. This community gets my recommendation.

Great place!
It was difficult for my parents to move out of the home where they resided for over 44 years. Karen from a place for mom, was and still is a great help for me and my parents! She has great advice and is very patient and extremely helpful. Stephen Wetmore at Stamford Estates is the most amazing, helpful, genuine and caring man, who was very patient with my mom. She was very resistant to moving to Stamford and leaving her home. She speaks French and Stephen took the time to reach out to residents who speak French and introduced them to my parents. They finally made the leap and have moved in, and although it may take a little longer for my mom to settle in, both my parents have been enjoying their new easier stress free life, participating in activities, enjoying their meals and meeting new people. The cleaning staff have been especially nice and helpful with my parents and I appreciate everyone at Stamford making my parents feel welcome and feel part of the big family. Deepak (spelling?) has also been helpful and nice with my parents. Great place to live, and all amenities are all around and it provides a great place to take walks. Stamford is a great place to retire and live life the way retirement is meant to be. Thank you to everyone who helped us out along the ways, especially Karen and Stephen.

Stamford Estates it is an awesome facility. Their staff is good from bottom all the way to the top. I am impressed with the facility. It is comforting to know that there is a place like this to have your loved ones in. It makes me feel very secure. This facility is really perfect.

Staff and residents very friendly. showed me units within my price range, and invited me for lunch. Food was good, and the residents I sat with were long time, and all commented that the staff is what made this place stand out. I am leaning towards this home.
