It Is More Affordable Than You Think
Staff are very kind and helpful, and respectful, to both myself and my loved one. Also, very accommodating...on the rare occasion when the menu doesn't have anything on it that my loved one particularly likes, they will make them something my loved one does like. They are flexible. I think the biggest takeaway that I had is how affordable it can be, because of what is included. When I compared my loved one's accommodation and added all of the extras, it ended up being the same price for only two meals a day.
The way they handled things during COVID was and subsequent outbreaks was top notch. I know they have a new manager there as of a couple months ago. I hope things do not change as my loved one is very happy there.

It is a good thing that I read the guidelines to giving a review otherwise I would have typed in all kinds of rule breaking stuff! :)
I have lots of good things to say about “The Lodge”
The staff here have always been friendly and approachable etc.
I have had the opportunity to have many interactions with all of the different staff here from the care-aides, nurses, salon, front desk, kitchen, laundry, housekeeping and.....maintenance. I believe that they are all team players.
My interactions with them have always been friendly and helpful. They are approachable and they listen to you, your request, your question - whatever it is, they do go out their way to help, find a solution or an answer.
The residents here are fabulous - lots of different and interesting people from all walks of life with stories to tell about their life experiences and their prides etc. Lots of interactions with the residents and the daily activities that take place.
The facility is organized and clean- if something does go amuck (stuff happens!) they have gotten it under control, nailed it down and adhered to necessary protocol. I have seen this - not that I was looking it for it, but it has been evident.
I enjoy coming to the lodge for my work, which has been well over a year now, as my clients are residents here.
It is a very nice facility with some almost complete
renovations. Looks very nice!
One more thing that I must add is - the food is fresh, tasty and with variety. I haven’t had the opportunity to attend one of their great smorgasbords (that I have often seen advertised on the walls in the elevator) that are held but hopefully one day in the near future- it might be possible. The chef here is fabulous and a cutie! :)

Highly recommend this lodge
The Lodge at Valley Ridge is the most lovely warm and welcoming home. We toured a few places in Calgary before my Mom and I chose this lodge. It has a different feel than most. It feels so relaxed and the people seem genuinely happy, both staff and residents. My Mom was nervous about the move when we first started this process, but now she is saying she should have done this sooner. She tells me she is happy and I feel so much better knowing my Mom is safe and sound.
