I would really say that honestly The Homestead is perfect; it's not the fanciest facility, but the level of care they provide and how much they are willing to work with you really makes up for it. The people working there are great, they make you feel comfortable, and the facility's location is super convenient.

Things have gone very well at The Homestead. We've only been here a few weeks at this point, but so far I would give them high marks across the board. We are entirely satisfied, and would recommend it to others looking into senior living in the area.

Our 100 year old loved one has been at the Homestead for three weeks. She seems very pleased. Everyone is very kind to her and she likes the food. She had been living alone and needed to be where she had some assistance while at the same time being somewhat independent. The Homestead has answered that need, and our family is very pleased.

They're doing a great job at The Homestead. Any time I run into any kind of a problem they're right on top of things and will be right there if anything needs to be fixed. When my loved one was having problems with leg circulation they made sure she had a high quality recliner in her room. They've been very accommodating to any requests or questions that I've had!

My elderly aunt (age 90) while still very sharp mentally (except for some intermittent paranoia) and fiercely independent had been declining physically to the degree that she recently began requiring 24/7 care, a very expensive undertaking. So we started our search for an assisted living facility. After visiting The Homestead we knew our search had ended!!!! My aunt has now moved in on a trail basis for one month. She loves the food (a priority for her), her large private room (beautiful mahogany furniture, two closets, private bath with walk-in shower, flat-screen TV, AC and even a fridge) overlooking a beautiful residential neighborhood and a myriad of activities to keep her busy. I am impressed with the friendly and totally supportive staff and the level of care being provided. From a financial point of view the all inclusive monthly fee is considerably less than other facilities we saw which were in no way comparable to The Homestead. Now I can relax knowing that my aunt will be safe, comfortable and happy.

The Homestead has a lot going for it, although the care they provide is more appropriate for those on the lower end of the care spectrum. My loved one has been very well cared for here! The facility has everything you could as for! There is an on site doctor, a psychiatrist, the aides are always present and available, and she even has a (fantastic!) case manager here. They are also able to provide any needed medication. which can be billed separately for insurance reasons if necessary. One aspect of their service that I really appreciate was they put a lot of thought into the pairings for their shared rooms. They are very cognizant of the personalities of their residents, and try very hard to match up people who will work well as roommates.

My mother has been a resident for over 5 years now. I live abroad and they make it easy for me to make sure my mom is taken care of. They have honestly gone above and beyond during this Covid crisis. The owner [name removed] helped me advocate and come up with solutions to help her get discharged from the rehabilitation centre after recovering from Covid. It was nearly impossible to get someone in to talk to them with all the regulations. The staff at The Homestead are all lovely..Celeste the case manager is very caring and very honest. It’s clean, bright, friendly and they will try to help in any way.

They do a good job taking care of the residents. They maintain a clean place. My brother in law is 70 and he is on the younger side, it is hard for him to find a peer group. The room sizes are nice. Overall it is a good place for my brother in law, he is being well taken care of. It is a Kosher community.

A Place for Mom helped place my mother, who is now 94, on the Alzheimer's floor of the Belvedere Senior Living Community four years ago. My brothers and I, as well as our spouses, have been very impressed and pleased with the care she has received and how well she has done there, despite the fact that she has had dementia for around twelve years. It's not the fanciest place, and indeed it's fairly small, with a homelike atmosphere, where they know the residents personally, and my brothers and I know the staff by name and they know us.I am a hands-on caregiving child who previously had my mother living with me, so I was willing to supply all incontinence needs, provide body soap, shampoo, washcloths,skin-cream, diaper rash ointment, etc., cut Mom's nails, and do all sorts of little things for Mom myself. The price here for Alzheimer's care makes even a private room surprisingly affordable, especially if you are willing, as I was, to remain very involved in your loved-one's care. I am there at least twice per week, which has meant that we have, so far, avoided to hire a full-time personal attendant/aide. I keep in contact with all on-site doctors and the home-care nurse, and I occasionally arrange to take Mom to medical and dentist appointments outside. I also carefully straighten Mom's walk-in closet and make sure to re-label clothes as laundering fades the original labels. The current administration, Crystal, Nazareen, Wendy, Monique, and of course Isaac and Estee, are all highly-professional, well-trained staffers who have worked their way up through the ranks and personally know every inch of the place and how it runs! The overall warmth of the place is one of the things that make the care there exceptional. Plus, many of the other aides, like Michele or Jackie, or Irene, and others, who work there, have had years of experience at the Belvedere itself as well as elsewhere.Get to know them and take their advice. A small-scale facility like this does have its limitations as to what it can provide, but I believe Mom is much-better cared-for and is in fact safer in the home-like atmosphere here than in a larger institution. We are Jewish, and the facility is Jewish-owned and run, and Jewish religious services are easily available here in a neighborhood in the heart of Brooklyn's Jewish community, so we really appreciate it here. But those of other religions and ethnicities also appreciate the warmth that exudes from the ethnic character of the neighborhood (Jews call it "heimish" or "home-like") and the place. The Belvedere is within a few blocks of the F-train stop at Avenue I, so getting here by subway from Manhattan (where I live and work) is a breeze! And getting here by car or bike or even on foot is easy, too. Plus there is convenient and low-priced shopping nearby in the neighborhood, which is where I buy most of Mom's supplies (as well as doing my own shopping there to schlepp home, since it is so much cheaper there than Manhattan)!

Overall our experience with The Belvedere has been a good one, it's a nice place. The facility is extremely clean, the rooms are a good size, and they do a great job with the food. One of the biggest selling points for us was that they have accessible showers, our loved one was recovering from a surgery and this meant he was able to bathe on his own. However, we weren't as impressed with the activities. The residents here are on the older side, and the activities seemed more geared for people with memory or cognitive decline, and they just weren't anything our loved one was interested in participating in.

It's been wonderful so far. We have no complaints at all. The meals are a little on the small side, but that's okay, they are good. We are very happy with them. I would give them a four and a half out of five.

I was initially overwhelmed by all of the phone calls from different assisted living places. We looked at several and decided on the Nautilus Hotel because it was close to where we live and it seemed like the best fit. After two weeks of living there, my brother-in-law is very happy. The food is very good and he likes all of the programs. Everything is very clean although the lobby area could use a facelift. The staff is excellent!

This is a lovely residence. The staff are very caring and engaged with the residents. Many activities and flexible approach to supporting residents with their interests. They take those interested on field trips. My dad recently went to a Mets' game and had a great time. They really seem to go the extra mile. Also, they treat the residents with respect, not in patronizing manner.

I think overall it's a good facility. It's certainly one of the better ones for the price that we visited. However, in the two years or so we've been there, I haven't been able to be inside that often due to Covid. THe lobby is now run down. It seems like it needs a little more care and attention. I don't think that they're I think they're doing as best as they can. My loved one can be very difficult. But I feel like they need to be much more hands on in making sure laundry gets done and making sure the room gets cleaned. I 'm sure my loved one says nonono and sends them away, but they need ot a little more involved. The staff are so nice. They're very freindly whenever I call or am able to come by. I find them to be very attentive. Everything has been harder since I haven't been able to go in before Covid. I found it was easier to help facilitate getting things done because my loved one trusts me and would allow them to help her more with me around.

We were pretty pleased with our experience here. They did a good job with keeping the community clean and the room where my aunt was was always very clean. The staff was pretty good. Every time I visited, I saw them doing everything they needed to do and they were very cooperative. Every time I called I had no problems with the staff. No complaints whatsoever. The price was very competitive compared to other communities in the area. Great location as well.

Staff nice. Plenty of rooms for residents to meet up, watch TV, read etc. There is a library room. Out door seating in summer. Big dining room. Nice looking meal plan. It is carpeted throughout. Shared rooms are not large but adequate with showers/bath/toilet, tv, dresser and a closet.
