The Right Choice for Mom

The facility is really well laid out with their elderly clients in mind. Dining room and hallways are designed to allow room for wheelchairs/scooters. They must emphasize to their employees to be friendly because everyone of them greats me with a smile and a hello even in passing. The only complaint I would have about service is when I try to call. I'm the family member so calling from outside the facility to reach the nursing staff is a little awkward. But the clients are given a fab and if they push the fab someone on staff gets to them very quickly.

Review for Abiitan Mill City

Abiitan was not a good fit because downtown, limited parking, and difficult to find because signage is only printed on door. It is attached to a closed restaurant. Don't even realize it is there. Once inside it was very nice but very similar to all my other tours. Nothing much stood out as special. Staff was nice. My Aunt is a farm wife. It was not a good fit

My loved one is currently resident at Ecumen CountrySide and everything has been great for her so far. We have had a great experience as my loved one has transitioned from her home to Assisted Living. We have appreciated everything as we navigate through this life changing time in my loved one's life. I would recommend Ecumen CountrySide to family and friends.

Definitely recommended

From the first time I walked into Quartet Senior Living, every staff member has been pleasant and helpful. My brother, who is the resident, has the same opinion. The quality of the food is excellent and there are choices that allow him to maintain a restricted salt diet. It is very obvious that the residents are made to feel that they are a part of the Quartet family. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

Wonderful Staff

What our family and our loved ones really love and enjoy about this community are the staff members and the other residents which is very important to us. Our loved ones really do enjoy the meals and dining service. With the community being brand new it is very nice and very clean. We would recommend Quartet Senior Living community to other families based on our experience so far.

Community Tour

My loved one's eyes lit up when she saw the apartments. There were windows all around so she could sit and look outside, and there was lots of natural light during the day. They have a horse and a donkey in the back that she could sit and watch. The apartments are just really nice, with a nice open space for the kitchen, and the bathrooms are about four times bigger than the place she’s currently at. They go in once a week and change the bedding, which is something she's not able to do on her own. I noticed everything was very clean. Their self-serve laundry room is a nice area. They had some really nice rooms for socializing. The dining area is totally open, and you can see outside. There’s a patio out there where you can sit outside to eat in the summertime. When you walk in there's a nice reception area. We really liked this place!

The most wonderful staff

The staff members there have just been incredible, amazing and extremely caring. We would absolutely highly recommend this community we have nothing but good things to say about. The community does not feel like a nursing home, but an actual home and the activities are good as well.

While St. Benedict's doesn't have room for my dad at this time, I was impressed with [name removed]. She showed compassion and honesty which is very helpful while going through this somewhat difficult time of change for our family.

Love the personalized small community culture at Centennial

My mother has been at Centennial house for 2 1/2 years including this past year during the Covid pandemic. The staff is personal and helpful. It amazes me that they often refer to my sister and I by name when we visit my mom. Activities are cheery events that my mom looks forward to, especially hymn and old music sing alongside...thank you [name removed]! And Bingo particularly with Viking guests and prizes! Of course it’s been difficult through the pandemic with limited contact but despite the challenges the staff has remained up beat and hard working to take care of the residents. centennial’s Covid record is excellent. I’m so happy that we chose Centennial house for my mother’s residence. When you walk in the door, observe the settings, see resident rooms and special features you will understand the culture. My moms place is like a beautiful little apartment full of her personal things. Be sure to check out Centennial house if you are looking for a residence for a loved one.

Amazing life at Abiitan

I have lived at Abiitan for about 1 year and have found that the choice to move here is one of the best decisions of my life. The folks here are from such a varied background and are interested in new experiences, continued learning and being part of a community. The variety of programming and events is awesome and there is something for everyone. As a resident, one has the option to participate every day or occasionally in activities. The staff is exceptional and they assist us in the art of living well, whatever that means to each person. Abiitan is my home, and I love it!

New Chapter, New Adventure for my mom

Moving is a big change at any stage in life. My mom's move from the suburbs to the city has been a big one but also an exciting one. It's inspiring for me as I see her embracing a new experience altogether. I am happy to see how Abiitan has provided her access to things she has had an interest in throughout her life (cultural, social and community involvement) but has had limited access to the last several years. With our family living and working downtown it is especially meaningful to share the urban experience together in a multi-generational way! I love that her grandchildren are super excited and think it's really cool that she moved to the city!

"They (Lakeview Commons) treat me like a queen".

My Mom was just entering the mid stage of Alzheimer's, when she was diagnosed in, January 2014. She was 82 and vehinimently independent. By April 2015, it was pretty evident, she needed guidance, assistance & supervision 24/7. Our hearts were broken. And, our knowledge & experience, on this topic, was non-existent. My Mom's neighbor suggested, Lakeview Commons, saying, she has heard only good things. Lakeview Commons was the only place we called and it was the only place we toured. My family & I all got the same, good, warm, fuzzy, first impression. With a lot of coaxing, kind words & all fingers crossed, we got Mom moved in. After a week or 2, I asked Mom, how she was doing. Almost like she was waiting to be asked, she said, "I have never been treated so kindly & so well by everyone. In 82 years, I haven't heard my first name as often as I have in the last 2 weeks, I've never had so many people greet me, nor have so many wanted to talk to me. I feel like a queen". Every week or so, when I'd ask, 'how it was going', I'd get the same or similar response. During a staff/family meeting, we were discussing various services & their cost and my daughter said it best, "How does one put a price tag on what Lakeview does for Grandma? You can't"!
